Kadıköy PCR Test – PCR TEST CENTER

We offer Travel COVID-19 testing, PCR testing for travel, rapid antigen testing and rapid antibody testing. The tests draw attention with their high sensitivity and specificity. All of our PCR tests are analyzed in certified Ministry of Health authorized laboratories.

Our COVID-19 test center is in Şişli and Kadıköy.

PCR Test results in the evening of the day the sample is given. We also have emergency work. You can get your pcr result via e-pulse and whatsapp in a short time like 2 hours after the sample is taken. Please get information for emergency PCR test.

We also have a home PCR test service, if you call and make an appointment, our PCR team will come to your home/workplace and take your samples under extremely isolated conditions and deliver them to our laboratory.

Our Kadıköy PCR test center is located in Acıbadem. Authorized laboratory that performs PCR testing in Kadıköy.

What is PCR Test?

PCr is a method. PCR stands for polymerase chain reaction. It is a test to detect the genetic material of a particular organism, such as a virus. If you have a virus during the test, the test detects the presence of a virus. The test can also detect virus fragments even after they are no longer infected. Today, the word pcr test is used almost synonymously with covid 19 pcr test, as it is used to detect the presence of covid 19.

What is the COVID-19 PCR test?

The polymerase chain reaction (PCR) test for COVID-19 is a molecular test that analyzes your upper respiratory sample looking for the genetic material (ribonucleic acid or RNA) of SARS-CoV-2, the virus that causes COVID-19. Scientists use PCR technology to amplify small amounts of RNA from samples to deoxyribonucleic acid (DNA); this is replicated until SARS-CoV-2, if any, is detected. PCR testing has been the gold standard test for diagnosing COVID-19 since it was authorized for use in February 2020. It is an accurate and reliable method.

Should we get tested for COVID-19?

Your doctor may recommend testing for COVID-19 if you have any of the following symptoms:

  • Fever or chills.
  • Cough.
  • Shortness of breath or difficulty breathing.
  • Tiredness.
  • Muscle or body aches.
  • Headache.
  • Loss of taste or smell.
  • Throat ache.
  • Congestion or runny nose.
  • Nausea or vomiting.
  • Diarrhea.

Not everyone with COVID-19 develops symptoms. Not all symptomatic people show all of the symptoms listed above. Please consult your medical doctor if you feel unwell during the COVID-19 pandemic, even if you have been vaccinated.

How is PCR Test Done?

There are three basic steps for COVID-19 PCR testing:

Specimen collection: A pcr testing center uses a swab to collect mucous material from your nose, which may be the virus. A swab is a soft cotton tip on a long, flexible swab that goes into your nose. There are different types of nasal swabs, including nasopharyngeal pads that take a swab just ahead of the nostrils and enter further into the nasal cavity for sample collection. Both types of swaps are sufficient to collect samples for COVID-19 PCR testing. After the sample is collected, the swab is placed in a tube and then sent to a laboratory.
Extraction: After a laboratory technician takes the sample, he isolates (extracts) the genetic material from the content of the material in the sample.
PCR: The PCR step then uses special chemicals and enzymes and a PCR machine called a thermal cycler. Each heating and cooling cycle increases the amount of targeted genetic material in the test tube. After many processes, millions of copies of a small fraction of the genetic material of the SARS-CoV-2 virus are deployed in test tubes. If the material contains SARS-CoV-2, one of the chemicals in the tube produces fluorescent light. Once sufficiently amplified, the PCR machine can detect this signal. Laboratory personnel use special software to interpret the signal as a positive test result.

What do the COVID-19 PCR test results mean?

A positive test result means that we are likely to be infected with SARS-CoV-2. This may be due to an asymptomatic infection, but if you have symptoms, this infection is called COVID-19. Most people have a mild illness and can recover safely at home without medical attention. If you feel unwell or have any questions or concerns, you should contact your doctor if you experience any different symptoms.

A negative test result means you probably did not have an infection with SARS-CoV-2 at the time your sample was collected. However, it is still possible to have COVID-19, but it is possible that the virus will not be detected by the test result. For example, this could happen if you were recently infected but don’t have symptoms yet, or if you had COVID—19 for more than a week before you were tested. A negative test doesn’t mean you’re safe for any length of time: After your test, you can be exposed to COVID-19, become infected, and infect others with the SARS-Cov-2 virus.

If the test is positive, you should contact the ministry of health, stay at home and isolate yourself from other people. If your test is negative, continue to take steps to protect yourself and others from getting COVID-19.

How long does it take to get PCR test results?

You can get your test results 6-8 hours after the sample is collected, but sometimes it can take several hours, depending on how long it takes the sample to reach the lab. Emergency work takes a minimum of 2 hours.

What is the difference between PCR Test and Rapid PCR test?

The PCR Test gives precise results, while the rapid PCR test gives less accurate results. They are cassette tests similar to pregnancy test called rapid, not PCR method.
