Tomography ( CT )

Computed Tomography CT

What is a CT examination?

CT (Computerized tomography) imaging enables the detection of X-ray passing through the body with a special detector system and obtaining an image using advanced computers.

How is an image obtained in a CT examination?

The CT Technician takes the patient to the examination room and makes him lie in the appropriate position on the CT table. Cross-sectional (axial) images of the extracted body parts and organs of varying thickness and high image quality are obtained. Obtained images can be reprocessed on the computer to obtain reformatted images or 3-dimensional (MIP/VR) images in different planes.

How to prepare for CT shooting?

Since the patient will have to be hungry in tests that require intravenous drug use, it is appropriate not to eat anything after the dinner the night before the examination. In very urgent cases, the fasting period can be reduced to 4-6 hours.

In cases where oral contrast material needs to be taken, the patient should be present at our center 1.5 hours before the appointment time, since the contrast agent mixed into the water should be started to be drunk 1 hour before the examination. In necessary patients, medication can be given rectally.

The obtained cross-sectional images are archived in the digital system. If desired, the film can be printed or saved on CD and given to the patient.

CT scans are taken at a discount to patients with SSI in our laboratories.
