What is Mammography?
Breast cancer is one of the most common causes of cancer death among women. Therefore, early diagnosis and treatment is very important. Mammography, together with clinical examination, is the most effective method in the early diagnosis of breast cancer. Using X-rays, breast tissue diseases and cancers can be recognized by mammography. All women over the age of 35 should have a mammogram at regular intervals with the advice of their doctor. The importance of regular follow-up provides early diagnosis of changes in breast tissue, therefore it is extremely important to bring previous mammography films for examination. In our center, mammography examinations are performed in digital environment with high image quality.
It is a screening method used in the diagnosis of breast diseases, especially cancer. A picture of the breast tissue is taken and specialist physicians examine whether there is a mass or other abnormal conditions in the breast. It is a test that every woman should have regularly after the age of 40.
